Surrender

written in 2004

He sees you in your praying place, seeking His direction

What are the steps I must take, to be effective?

I have taken so many roads before,

trying to get farther than I was before.

Is there a decision I must make? Then a voice said to me

“Surrender to Jesus”

V2 Who is this Jesus, we are getting to know day by day?

He is the Holy and exalted one from whom all blessings flow.

He said if I remember the truth I’ve been shown, it would set

me free

And I would know whether His teachings came from the heart of God

or from man down below.

V3 King of Glory, you laid down your majesty

But You stayed Holy, when you came in the form of a man and

took on humanity.

You withstood all the temptation that we would see

You stayed true to your Holy nature when you were

tempted by the enemy.

V4 Because you had this purpose in mind, to obey the Father’s

will

And you have this purpose in mind that you will obey it still

And you have this purpose in mind, you want to live your life

through mine.

V5 So I must yeild up my troubles and not be bound by sin

Yeild up my problems and find new life again

At the cross you took away my sin and shame, and overcame my guilt

and pain.

V6 You lived your life perfectly as you surrendered to God’s plan

Now I live for you and think of the blows you received from the

Father’s hand

Without a cry, without a complaint you surrendered to the spikes.

That gives you the right to be the Lord and keeper of my life

V7 And so I must yeild up my troubles and not be bound by sin

Yeild up my problems and find new life again.

At the cross you took away my sin and shame, and you overcame

my guilt and pain.

I must surrender, I must surrender, surrender, surrender

He will never disappoint those who trust in Him

I love studying the Bible about topics that most Christians deal with, and sharing my findings. My hope is to inspire others with the good news of the Gospel and point others to the great and precious promises of Jesus.
